The Headquarters have always maintained a distinguished reputation throughout the hair salon industry. We would like to share with you some information on our staff of stylists.
Jan Chubb:
I got interested in the field of hairstyling after I worked as the receptionist at Mr. D’s barber shop in downtown Burlington. Which later became The Headquarters Salon. After watching the stylist’s work, and how they changed people’s looks I thought what a great thing to be able to do!
I got my Barber license in 1977 after attending the Iowa School of Hairstyling in Des Moines, Iowa. Returning to Burlington to work back at The Headquarters; and purchasing the salon in 1988.
Doing cuts is a large percentage of the day, although I love to do Hair-coloring and texture changes also. Men’s cuts are a big part of my business. Actually I enjoy all facets of the business; manicures, pedicures, and facials the FEEL GOOD services. I have had training with the hair extensions from Tressa Lure and Nova eye lash extensions.
It makes my day when I completely change a person’s appearance with a new style and help them learn how to maintain it. I feel good about coming to work everyday and feel good about what I got to accomplish by the end of the day! I have a great customer base, and always enjoy meeting new ones!
Calley Yaeger:
I am a Burlington born and raised girl. I knew I wanted to become a hairstylist at the age of 8. I haven’t been disappointed yet! I love what I do.
When I was 16 I was hired at The Headquarters Salon as a part time receptionist while going to high school. Watching and learning was a good experience for my career. I was able to learn from several different stylists in those years that I worked as a receptionist.
I attended Dayton’s School of Hair Design in 1995.
I really enjoy the hair styling and making people look the best that they can. This includes color and perming. I have built up quite a large acrylic nail business, using Creative Nail as my product of choice; along with OPI polish.
Enjoying people is a big part of this business. Thank goodness I like meeting new people, and helping clients with their hair and nail’s. Being able to do manicures, pedicures, waxing, and special occasion hair is enjoyable also.
Wendy Kayser:
I grew up in Stronghurst, IL. In 1991 I attended the Institute of Cosmetology Arts in Burlington. I have worked in other salons in the area, but finally found my place here at The Headquarters in 2006.
I enjoy doing acrylic nails, waxing, cuts and coloring; oh heck, I like it all! Focusing on new trends with both cutting and coloring especially for teens and young adults. Working part time at the salon enables me to work with, my photography studio Taylored Images located in the upstairs of the salon. The beauty we love to create can now be captured forever!
Marsha Pfadenhauer:
She is the Headquarters part time receptionist. Being a retired nurse she missed the public and was hired to answer our phone and schedule client appointments. Marsha also makes reminder calls to those who want and need them. Keeping the Headquarters and the staff running smoothly and making sure the salon looks great thru-out the day keeps her busy. Marsha really enjoys meeting and visiting with clients; it is like taking care of a second family.
