Intense Pulsed Light
Therapy
Intense pulsed
light, also known as photo-facial and photo rejuvenation,
is a proven skin therapy and is based on emitting high intensity
pulses of light (not lasers) to penetrate the skin and rid
you of various complaints. There are different wavelengths
for different levels or types of penetration.
A highly
advanced computer regulates the light pulse to a specific
wavelength range, which in turn heats the target, thereby
damaging or otherwise destroying the targeted lesion while
sparing the surrounding healthy or "normal" tissue.
With this machine, the light pulses are directed at the
blood vessels, age spots, freckles, flat pigmented birthmarks
and other types of discolorations.
Micro Dermabrasion
You may have
heard friends talk about having a "Parisian Peel,"
"Derma Peel," "Power Peel," "Microderm
Peel," "Ultra Peel," or "lunchtime peel";
all are types of microdermabrasion, another tool availble
to revitalize and resurface skin. The treatment uses a fine
mist of microscopic aluminum oxide crystals to exfoliate
the top layers of skin (epidermis). Think of a sandblaster
followed by a vacuum cleaner and you have the general idea
of microdermabrasion.
Micro-Dermabrasion
is ideal for:
Individuals who don't want to undergo the time, expense,
discomfort, longer healing time, and possible side effects
of alternative skin resurfacing treatments such as chemical
peel, dermabrasion or laser skin resurfacing, and have fairly
minor skin problems: fine lines, mild acne, blotches, pigmentation,
small scars.
Facials
A cleansing,
moisturizing treatment with an essential oil cream mask.
Firms, nourishes, and hydrates the skin, leaving your face
revitalized and vibrant.
Facials are
deep skin treatments that cleanse, rehydrate and rejuvenate
the skin, apart from minimizing skin blemishes, acne, dry
skin and, of course, wrinkles. Facials vary depending on
your skin type, the kind of treatment you've chosen, the
products used and the person's age. However, it is advisable
to start having facials in your late 20's.
Facials involve
a cleansing procedure, a massage and steam, and the application
of a facemask. What they help to do is remove the dead,
dull outer layer of cells that make up the skin's surface
or epidermis along with pollutants.
